Tesla Model 3: Update Vehicle Software To Correct Tpms Behaviour
Recall Summary Tesla is recalling 62,893 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles in the United Kingdom because the tire pressure warning light doesn't stay on between driving sessions, which could prevent drivers from noticing underinflated tires. This increases the risk of collisions due to tire failure. Tesla will fix this by sending a software update wirelessly to affected vehicles.
- Recalling firm
- TESLA
- Product
- Vehicles: TESLA MODEL 3, TESLA MODEL Y. Units affected: 62,893
- Reason
- On affected vehicles upon detection of a malfunction with the tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) the TPMS tell tale does not persist between drive cycles where the vehicle is off or asleep between the drive cycles. Therefore the driver may not be adequately warned of potential under-inflation of the tyres increasing the risk of a collision. Remedy: Install modified software via an Over the Air (OTA) wireless update.
