Audi Audi Q5 Tfsiq Audi Sq5 Air-suspension Audi Sq5 Audi Q5 Tdiq

Recall Summary Audi is recalling 139 Q5 and SQ5 vehicles from certain model years due to a manufacturing issue with the front seat belts. The seat belt locking mechanism may not function properly after being tightened, which could cause the belts to lose tension during a crash and fail to properly restrain occupants. This affects vehicles with specific type codes distributed in Japan.

Recalling firm
Audi (Japanese Importer: VOLKSWAGEN Group Japan K.K.)
Product
Vehicle Make: AUDI. Model: Audi Q5 TFSIq Audi SQ5 Air-suspension Audi SQ5 Audi Q5 TDIq. Manufacturer: Audi (Japanese Importer: VOLKSWAGEN Group Japan K.K.). Vehicles Affected: 139. Type Codes: GAI-4188, AA-GU20S, AA-GUSA, AA-GUSS, CA-GU20
Reason
Due to fluctuations in the manufacturing process which could cause the locking function of the seat belts to be restricted after they are tightened. In the event of an accident where the driver and/or front passenger seat belt pretensioner activates, the seat belt may not maintain proper tension, resulting in increased belt slack and reduced restraint performance. As a result, the occupant may not be adequately restrained.
