BMW 7 Series: The Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler Could Leak Over Time
Recall Summary BMW is recalling approximately 1.3 million vehicles from its 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 Series, and X3, X4, X5 models because the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler may leak coolant over time. When coolant leaks into the EGR module and mixes with soot and oil deposits, it can create flammable material inside the engine. BMW will inspect the EGR cooler with a camera and replace it if leaking is detected.
