Volvo Car Xc90: Battery Ground Cable May Short Circuit
Volvo is recalling 1,822 XC90 and S80 vehicles because the battery positive cable may be positioned too close to the starter motor solenoid, which could cause a short circuit in the battery ground cable. This short circuit could result in smoke under the hood or the vehicle failing to start with warning lights appearing. Dealers will inspect the cable clearance and adjust it if needed to ensure proper spacing.
