Suzuki Lt-r450: Frame May Crack And Detach

Suzuki LT-R450 Recall Summary Suzuki is recalling 135 LT-R450 vehicles because welds connecting the rear suspension pivot bracket may be too weak and can crack with heavy use, potentially causing the bracket to detach from the frame. Affected vehicles will have the welds reinforced around the full circumference, or the frame will be replaced if the crack has already opened. This recall affects LT-R450 owners in the United Kingdom.

Recalling firm
SUZUKI GB PLC
Product
Vehicles: SUZUKI LT-R450. Units affected: 135
Reason
It has been identified that there may be a weld of insufficient strength joining a mounting bush to the attachment bracket of the main rear suspension pivot. The circular bush is joined by two opposing welds of approximately a quarter of the circumference each. Under heavy use the welds can develop a fracture and prolonged use in this condition can lead to detachment. Remedy: Recalled machines whether displaying the concern or not will have the brackets over-welded around the full circumference of the bush. In cases where the fracture has opened up a modified frame will be fitted.
