Toyota () Rav4: Rear Suspension Arm May Separate
Recall Summary Toyota is recalling 395,178 RAV4, Avensis, and Auris vehicles sold in the United Kingdom because the rear suspension arm may separate from the vehicle. This can happen when the suspension arm is adjusted during wheel alignment or repairs, which can allow corrosion and thread deterioration that eventually leads to arm failure and loss of vehicle control. Toyota will check and adjust the torque on the suspension arm, replacing it if necessary.

- Product
- Vehicles: TOYOTA () RAV4, TOYOTA () AVENSIS, TOYOTA () AURIS. Units affected: 395,178
- Reason
- If the rear suspension arm is adjusted as part of a wheel alignment or other repairs whilst in service it is possible that backlash can occur. This can allow corrosion to develop and cause the threads to deteriorate. Ultimately this could result in failure of the arm with a resultant loss of control of the vehicle. Remedy: Recall all affected vehicles to check the torque on the arm. Where necessary the arm will be replaced.
