2021 Grand Design Solitude Fifth Wheel Trailer - Suspension

Recall Summary Certain 2021-2024 Grand Design Momentum and Solitude fifth wheel trailers have U-bolts connecting the axles to the suspension that may not be properly tightened, which could allow an axle to slide backward on the leaf spring. This condition can cause poor handling and loss of control, creating a crash risk. Grand Design RV will notify affected owners by mail about the repair process, which is still being developed.

Reason: Issue: On certain RV trailers, the U-bolts that attach the axles to the suspension may not have been properly tightened. As a result, an axle could slide back on the leaf spring. This could cause poor handling and lead to a loss of control. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall nos. 2023-395 and 2024-164. RV trailers that were repaired under those recalls also require this repair. Safety Risk: A loss of control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Grand Design RV will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.
