BMW 5 Series: Possible Reduction In Brake Servo Assistance
BMW Recall Summary BMW is recalling 31,701 vehicles from its 5, 6, and 7 Series models because engine oil can potentially enter the brake servo through the vacuum pump and hose, damaging the brake servo membrane and reducing braking assistance. Drivers may need to press the brake pedal harder to achieve normal braking. BMW will replace the brake servo hose with a modified version and inspect the brake servo for contamination, replacing it if necessary.
