Honda Motorcycles St1300: Possible Rear Brake Failure

Honda is recalling 1,412 ST1300 motorcycles distributed in the United Kingdom because a bolt on the rear swinging arm may rub against the rear brake reservoir hose, causing it to leak brake fluid. If the hose leaks, air can enter the brake system and the rear brakes could fail completely. Honda will replace the hose and reservoir on affected motorcycles.

Product
Vehicles: HONDA MOTORCYCLES ST1300. Units affected: 1,412
Reason
It is possible that the rear brake reservoir hose could be chaffed by the speed sensor guide bolt on the rear swinging arm. This could result in abrasion damage and a subsequent fluid leak. Should this occur air could enter the system and the rear brake function could be lost. Remedy: Recall all affected machines for the replacement of the hose and reservoir.
