Harley Davidson Fxrst: Softail Brake Line Routing

Harley Davidson is recalling 7 Softail motorcycles (FXRST and FXLRST models) sold in the United Kingdom because the front brake lines may have been bent during assembly and could contact the fuel tank, potentially causing brake fluid to leak over time. Dealers will inspect the affected motorcycles and replace the brake lines if needed, or repair or replace the fuel tank if necessary.

Vehicles: HARLEY DAVIDSON FXRST, HARLEY DAVIDSON FXLRST. Units affected: 7
Reason
The front brake lines may contact the fuel tank due to unintended bending of the brake lines during assembly. Contact between the brake lines and the fuel tank could over time lead to a breach in a brake line and a loss of brake fluid. Remedy: Inspect affected machines and if required replace bent brake lines. In some cases a repair or replacement of the fuel tank may also be necessary.
