- Reason
- The parking brake lever may not engage correctly when the vehicle is pulled up because the teeth in the ratchet mechanism may balance on the tooth tops. In this condition teeth may slip out of place due to vibration. In extreme instances the lever may be released due to inadequate spring force inside the ratchet mechanism and the vehicle may move. Remedy: On affected vehicles replace the handbrake lever with a unit with improved spring pressure.
