Daimler Truck Canter 3s13: Src260707 – Rc2602 – Check Replace The Link Rod On The Upper Supporting Joint

Recall Summary Daimler Truck is recalling 11 vehicles (Canter 3S13, 3C13, and 3C15 models) because a batch of link rods in the upper supporting joint may not have been hardened properly during manufacturing, which could weaken the component and potentially cause it to break. If the rod fractures, pieces could fall onto the road and create a hazard for other vehicles, although the recalled vehicle's brakes and steering would continue to work.

Vehicles: DAIMLER TRUCK CANTER 3S13, DAIMLER TRUCK CANTER 3C13, DAIMLER TRUCK CANTER 3C15. Units affected: 11
Reason
As part of our continuous product monitoring we have identified that a defined production batch of the link rod for the upper supporting joint has not acquired the required material hardness in the production process due to insufficient inductive hardening. This may reduce the strength of the component and in extreme cases lead to fracture. Even after a fracture the brakes and steering continue to operate so that the vehicle can be driven to a safe location. However a potential fragment may end up on the roadway creating a safety risk for following traffic. Remedy: Check replace the link...
