Aston Martin Vantage: Engine May Not Start
Recall Summary Aston Martin is recalling 125 Vantage vehicles because a faulty electrical connection may prevent the engine from starting. The problem occurs when certain electrical components draw high power, potentially causing brake hoses to overheat and melt, which can also trigger brake warning lights and affect brake performance. The manufacturer will relocate the electrical connection point and install an additional earth strap to fix the issue.

- Vehicles: ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE. Units affected: 125
- Reason
- The engine may not start because the power train to chassis primary earth stud may have intermittent high resistance. This condition may occur when electrical items that draw high current are utilised in which case the electrical path could route through the rear braided hoses causing them to heat up and possibly melt leading to a soft pedalillumination of the brake warning lamp and poor starting. Remedy: Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected so the primary earth stud can be moved to a new location and fit a secondary earth strap between the transmission and chassis.
