Recall Summary Certain 2026-2027 Freightliner Business Class M2 and Custom Chassis S2 vehicles have a software problem in their headlamp assemblies that can prevent low beam headlights from being bright enough after switching from high beams. Dimmed headlights reduce visibility on the road and increase crash risk. Daimler Truck North America will mail owners about this recall, though the fix is still being developed.

Reason: Issue: This recall is for headlamp assemblies installed on certain vehicles or sold as a replacement part. Under certain conditions, a software problem could cause the low beam headlamps not to be bright enough after switching from high to low beam. Safety Risk: Headlamps that aren't bright enough can reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect and, if necessary, update the vehicle software.
