Chevrolet Optra: Braking Efficiency May Be Affected
Recall Summary Chevrolet has recalled approximately 388,760 vehicles across multiple models because incorrect brake fluid was installed during manufacturing, which could cause corrosion inside the ABS braking module. This corrosion may result in excessive brake pedal travel or, in some cases, reduced braking performance, though there will be no visible fluid leaks. Affected owners in the United Kingdom should have their brake fluid inspected and replaced as part of the remedy.

- Vehicles: CHEVROLET OPTRA, CHEVROLET EPICA, CHEVROLET NUBIRA, CHEVROLET LACETTI, CHEVROLET SPARK, CHEVROLET AVEO, CHEVROLET KALOS, CHEVROLET TOSCA, CHEVROLET MATIZ, CHEVROLET CAPTIVA. Units affected: 388,760
- Reason
- Incorrect type of brake fluid installed at production could cause internal corrosion of the ABS module. This corrosion can lead to a gel build up inside the module which may affect the closing motion of one of the valves. There will be no external loss of fluid or reduction in fluid level but it is possible the driver could feel excessive brake pedal travel. In some circumstances there may be reduced braking performance. Remedy: Inspection of the brake fluid using a scan tool. Drain and replace the fluid and replace the brake fluid reservoir cap (All models except Captiva & Epica/Tosca)....
