BMW X3: Power Steering May Not Perform Correctly

Recall Summary BMW is recalling 287 vehicles across multiple models (X3, 2 Series, 1 Series, 4 Series, 3 Series, X5, and X6) because the electrical connections in the power steering control unit may degrade over time, potentially causing the power steering to stop working. In rare cases, the component could also overheat. BMW will replace the affected steering gear units.

Reason
The electrical contact of the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) of the Electric Power Steering (EPS) is not sufficiently robust over the service life of the vehicle.
