Suzuki Sfv-650: Engine May Stall

Recall Summary Suzuki is recalling approximately 16,146 motorcycles from multiple models (SFV-650, AN650, DL650, GSR750, GSX650, and GSX1250) sold in the United Kingdom because contamination between the tappet and cam can cause wear to the cam, leading to increased valve clearance. This condition may result in abnormal engine noises and, in some cases, engine stalling. Dealers will inspect tappet clearances and replace cams or adjust tappets as needed.

SUZUKI GB PLC
Product
Vehicles: SUZUKI SFV-650, SUZUKI AN650, SUZUKI DL650, SUZUKI GSR750, SUZUKI GSX650, SUZUKI GSX1250. Units affected: 16,146
Reason
It is possible for contamination to get between the tappet and the cam and cause surface damage and wear to the cam. If this condition occurs the valve clearance can become large and cause abnormal engine noises and in worst case engine to stall. Remedy: Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and check the tappet clearances and in some cases replace cams and adjust tappets.
