Ford C-max: Vehicle Could Suffer Clutch Pressure Plate Fracture

Ford Vehicle Recall Summary Ford is recalling approximately 399,000 C-Max, Kuga, S-Max, Galaxy, Mondeo, and Focus vehicles with 1.0, 1.5, or 1.6 Ecoboost engines and manual transmissions because the clutch pressure plate can fracture. A fractured clutch plate can cause smell, reduced performance, and potentially transmission noise or fragments that could lead to smoke or fire under the hood. Ford will fix vehicles with Engine Stop Start by installing updated software that reduces engine power when clutch slipping is detected, or will install a replacement clutch kit in other vehicles.
