Honda Motorcycles Nss125: Engine May Stall

Honda is recalling 389 NSS125 motorcycles because water can enter a connector in the wiring harness during assembly, corroding the electrical connections and causing the engine to stall. The issue affects bikes distributed in the United Kingdom. Honda will replace the main wiring harness and engine sub-harness with new parts.

Product
Vehicles: HONDA MOTORCYCLES NSS125. Units affected: 389
Reason
The 23 pin coupler between the main wire harness and the engine sub-harness may have had a seal compromised during assembly. This can allow water to corrode the connections and cause spurious signals to the Electronic Control Unit which can lead to enriched fuel supply and in the worst case the engine may stall. Remedy: Recall the machines that are likely to be affected and replace the main wiring harness and the engine sub-harness with new countermeasure parts.
