2019 Mercedes-benz C Class - Structure

Recall Summary Mercedes-Benz is recalling approximately 36,862 vehicles from model years 2019-2026 across multiple C-Class and related models due to a structural issue affecting the driver-side door lock microswitch. Moisture can enter and corrode the microswitch, which may cause it to fail to engage the parking brake and auto park feature when the door opens, potentially allowing the vehicle to roll away. Affected owners will be notified by mail and instructed to visit a dealership to have the driver-side door lock replaced.

Reason

Issue: On certain vehicles, moisture could enter the driver-side door lock microswitch and cause it to corrode. As a result, the microswitch may fail to automatically engage the parking brake and/or the auto park feature when the door is opened. If this happens, the vehicle could roll away. Note: This problem could also cause the radio and/or interior lights to remain on after exiting the vehicle.
